Mr. Boos received his B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of California at San Diego in 1977. He matriculated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, England, in 1977. Mr. Boos received his J.D. degree from the University of California at San Francisco, Hastings College of the Law, in 1983.

Since his graduation from law school, Mr. Boos’ professional experience has been focused on the representation of Indians and Indian tribal governments. He served as a staff attorney, senior attorney, and acting Director of Litigation for DNA - People’s Legal Services from 1983 through 1992. He was also appointed as an Associate Judge of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Court in 1989. In 1992, he began work as a staff attorney for the Navajo Nation Department of Justice where he conducted general litigation on behalf of the Navajo Nation. In 1995, he was appointed to serve as the Chief Legislative Counsel of the Navajo Nation, where he represented the 88 member Navajo Nation Council and assisted in the creation and adoption of legislation for the Navajo Nation as well as providing general representation of the Navajo Nation Legislative Branch and its entities. Since joining the firm, he has provided general representation to the Southern Ute Indian tribal government and has shared representation of the Southern Ute Indian Gaming Commission and the Ute Mountain Ute Gaming Commission with Patricia A. Hall. He has also pioneered the firm's Indian health care practice, which represents P.L. 93-638 healthcare facilities, such as the Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in its efforts to become a 638 contractor of the Southern Ute Health Center.

Mr. Boos has represented Indian interests in a number of pieces of complex litigation, including Superior Oil v. Merritt, 619 F. Supp. 526 (D. Utah 1985), Utah Department of Social Services v. Vigil, 784 P.2d 1130 (D. Utah 1989), Meyers, et al. v. Board of Education of San Juan School District, et al., 905 F. Supp. 1544 (D. Utah 1995), and Southern Ute Indian Tribe v. Leawitt, Case No. 05-988 WJ/LAM, United States District Court for New Mexico. He holds licenses to practice in California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, the Navajo Nation, and various federal courts.

He has served as both the President and Vice-President of the Navajo Nation Bar Association (1992-1994). He currently serves as a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association Disciplinary Committee. He also served a term as a member of the DNA-People’s Legal Services Board of Directors (1998 - 2000).
