Ms. Sheftel has been a partner with the law firm of Maynes, Bradford, Shipps & Sheftel, LLP, Durango, Colorado, since May of 1988. The firm is general counsel for a number of public water districts in southwestern Colorado and numerous private water clients. Ms. Sheftel began her law practice as an associate with the firm in May 1985. She is a former member of the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo, College of Law in April 1985. She received her master’s degree in Library Science with honors from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1968, and graduated magna cum laude from Pembroke College in Providence Rhode Island, in 1963, where she majored in American Studies.
