Mr. Spence joined the firm in June, 2006, after beginning his legal career with law firms in Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as Minor & Brown, PC, in Denver, Colorado. A graduate of Durango High School, he received his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma (J.D., with honors) where he served as production editor for the Tulsa Law Journal. He received an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program and his B.A. (Business Administration) from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. While in Salt Lake City and Denver, he counseled numerous physicians and small-to-medium sized businesses on varied complex business matters. Mr. Spence also counseled high net worth individuals on complex estate planning issues.

The majority of his current work focuses on business and real estate transactions for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund.

He formerly served as President of the Eastern Idaho Estate Planning Council and was a member of the Denver Estate Planning Council. He also served on the Board of Directors of Utah Friends for Sight (formerly Utah Prevention of Blindness). He is licensed to practice in Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming.
